Elevated homocysteine is a modifiable risk factor for dementia & linked to higher risk of strokes and heart attacks.
Methylation requires adequate levels of B12, methyl folate and B6 and is responsible for production of:
- Myelin (Normal nerve function)
- New cells (red blood cells, maintenance of tissue and repair if damaged)
- Neurotransmitters (normal mood & behaviour)
- Removal of the toxic, excitatory (pain and depression/anxiety) and pro-inflammatory molecule homocysteine.
Commonly co-prescribed with Active B12.
Commonly given to support patients already receiving B12 injections.
Patients with clinically diagnosed anxiety should proceed with caution using this product or use the One a Day Essential Multi which contains lower levels of the methylating B vitamins.
Dose: X1 in the morning
High dose B2 will frequently make urine turn a bright yellow colour. This is a normal effect.
